Warrants: Corryton man stalked victims before shooting, kidnapping


SEYMOUR — A Corryton man is accused of shooting one person and pointing a gun at another outside the White Star Market, then kidnapping his ex-girlfriend at gunpoint before Sevier County Sheriff’s deputies caught up to him Tuesday evening.
The incident started at about 7:50 p.m. Tuesday when Shelton Travis Rosenbaum fired multiple shots into a car outside the popular convenience store. The gunfire struck 50-year-old Dwayne DeArmond in the back, according to arrest warrants.
Rosenbaum held a gun to the face of another passenger, Larissa Hunt, but didn t fire at her, the warrants said.
He then forced his ex-girlfriend, Crystal Gibson, who was the third passenger, back into the car and made her drive away from the store. ....

SEVIERVILLE Sevier County residents will not be able to get Johnson & Johnson’s single-dose vaccine for COVID-19 for an undetermined amount of time after the federal government recommended a “pause” in distribution of the vaccine.
The Tennessee Department of Health announced Tuesday that it would follow federal recommendations to hold off on administering the vaccine while federal officials review reports of rare but dangerous blood clots in a handful of patients who have received the vaccine.
State officials said they expect to be able to continue providing vaccinations in Tennessee on schedule, although patients will need to take the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine, both of which require two doses to be fully effective. ....
