Syracuse has 10 new snow plows, but Covid could easily sideline the drivers

Syracuse, N.Y. The city recently spent more than $1 million on new plow trucks to better clear its streets during major snow storms. This winter, though, the challenge will be keeping enough plow drivers on the job to operate the new machines amid a worsening pandemic.
Syracuse Director of Operations Corey Driscoll Dunham said the public works department is developing plans to keep drivers safe and on the job, as well as contingencies in case there’s a Covid-19 outbreak that sidelines those drivers. Syracuse may see its first major snowfall of the year this week. ....
