Police said the steep slope after Katraj tunnel makes controlling of vehicles difficult, which coupled with indisciplined driving caused the accidents. Bengaluru highway Residents and politicians who have been fighting their way for the Khed-Shivapur toll plaza are yet again furious as residents of Satara, Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad will have to pay toll from January 1. This comes after the government’s recent decision of making FASTag mandatory for all four-wheelers. The residents will once again be liable to pay toll which was cancelled for them last year due to the pathetic situation of the road. Now, without any repairs in place, the toll is going to resume for them. A protest was held on the Khed-Shivapur stretch on February 16 by members of all political parties after which the toll was waived owing to poor condition of several stretches leading to traffic congestions as well as accidents. ....
