In the four-way race for Dallas City Council District 8, our nod reluctantly goes to incumbent Tennell Atkins. Atkins, 64, represented District 8 from 2007 to until he was term-limited in 2015. After sitting on the sidelines for two years, voters returned him to office in 2017 and reelected him in 2019. This year, he is seeking his seventh two-year term.
