KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 17 The number of evacuees in Sabah has increased this morning, with no change in Johor, while the situation in Pahang and Sarawak continues to improve, with a drop in the number of flood victims recorded.
In Sabah, Kota Kinabalu, Penampang, Putatan, Tuaran and Papar are the latest districts hit by floods this morning.
According to the Sabah Disaster Management Committee Secretariat, as at 8am today, the number of evacuees has increased to 176 people compared with 122 reported last night who were housed at seven relief centres (PPS) statewide. ....

Kota Kinabalu: The number of evacuees in Sabah has increased this morning, with no change in Johor, while the situation in Pahang and Sarawak continues to improve, with a drop in the number of flood victims recorded.
In SABAH, Kota Kinabalu, Penampang, Putatan, Tuaran and Papar are the latest districts hit by floods this morning.
According to the Sabah Disaster Management Committee Secretariat, as at 8 am today, the number of evacuees has increased to 176 people compared with 122 reported last night who were housed at seven relief centres (PPS) statewide.

In the five new districts hit by floods, 39 people were evacuated in Kota Kinabalu, Penampang (11) and Putatan (four) while no evacuees in Tuaran and Papar. ....

KUALA LUMPUR: The flood situation in Sarawak, Pahang and Sabah has improved this morning with the decline in number of evacuees, but in Johor, the number has remained the same as yesterday.
In SARAWAK the number of evacuees at relief centres dropped slightly to 4,247 people this morning from 4,343 last night.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee in its latest report informed that 51 centres are still operating in the six flood-hit districts since last Wednesday.
Kuching district still has the highest number of evacuees with 2,853 people in 33 centres, followed by Serian (1,068 in 10 centres), Samarahan (319 in seven centres) and Miri (seven at one centre). ....

Kuala Lumpur: The flood situation in Sabah and Sarawak has worsened with an increase in the number of evacuees, while the opposite situation is reported in Johor, Pahang and Kelantan Wednesday evening.
A check at infobanjir.water.gov.my this afternoon found Sungai Padas in Beaufort, Malihah in Kuching; Sungai Jelai in Lipis and Sungai Pahang in Lubuk Paku, Maran and in Serambi, Pekan, Pahang; as well as Sungai Golok in Kuala Jambu, Kelantan still recording readings above the danger level.
Meanwhile, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) forecast rain and thunderstorms to continue to hit Sarawak and Sabah until Jan 19. ....
