Witnesses saw her drive up behind a ute on the Warrego Highway, swerve into the right lane to overtake, then back into the left-hand lane before losing control of her car and crashing. Her Daewoo Lanos ended up in the culvert beside the highway, facing backwards towards the east-bound lanes. Police attended the scene at Hatton Vale on November 3, but Jacobs refused to participate in a roadside breath test. Police have charged a man following a pursuit through Strathfield earlier this month. About 6.30pm on Friday 18 December 2020, officers from Burwood Police Area Command attempted to conduct a Random Breath Test on the driver of a white Audi station wagon on Everton Road in Strathfield. When police attempted to confirm the identity of the male driver, he allegedly accelerated away, causing an officer to jump back into oncoming traffic to avoid being hit. A pursuit commenced, but it was terminated a short time later due to the driver’s dangerous manner of driving. About 1pm on Tuesday 29 December 2020, investigations into the alleged driver’s identity led police to a home on Juno Parade in Greenacre, where officers arrested a 27-year-old man. ....

Following a number of random breath tests, acting Inspector Rod Morris said a number of people were caught driving under the influence across the Tweed Byron district. Police will be out in force over the holiday period and stationery and mobile Random Breath Testing will be conducted across the District, he said. The message from Police is, If you are going to drink, don t drive and Have a Plan B.
