NEW BEDFORD Foley Fish, the family-owned processor and seller of multiple fish species in New Bedford, was acquired this week by Connecticut-based food distributor, The Chefs Warehouse. Laura Foley Ramsden, the fourth-generation owner of Foley Fish, will remain at the helm as head fishmongress as she said, and the approximate 54 employees in production and sales will stay. The Chefs Warehouse, which distributes specialty food products to restaurants across the United States and Canada, acquired substantially all the assets of the New Bedford business. Ramsden said talks with company started before the COVID-19 pandemic and that the acquisition was actually delayed by it. She said it was an exciting day when the acquisition was announced Monday. ....
