A petition demanding that all beach driving in Queensland be limited to driver with an Open licence has attracted 1811 signatures since it was launched five months ago.
The petition was started by Simon McDonald, who got fed up with dangerous P-plater behaviour on the beach last year, but has failed to reach its target of 2500 signatures.
Another serious accident involving P-Platers at Teewah over the weekend has reignited the debate on Facebook.
Two teenagers had to be airlifted following the weekend crash.
The petition says P-platers are ruining the privilege of driving on the beach for everyone, and only drivers with an Open licence should be allowed to do it. ....

Sky News acts largely as a platform for the UK defence...

A study by
Declassified, covering 203 articles written by Deborah Haynes, Alistair Bunkall and Dominic Waghorn, has found that Sky routinely amplifies the views of the UK government in its military and foreign policies and provides almost no serious attempts to independently scrutinise or criticise them.
The research, which has analysed all articles by the three correspondents that could be found from November 2019 to November 2020, found that the primary focus of Sky’s critical reporting has overwhelmingly been countries presented by British officials as enemies of the UK – Russia, China and Iran – as well as the US under Donald Trump.
Two of the reporters, Haynes and Bunkall, offered no serious critical coverage of UK military or foreign policies or the human rights abuses committed by Britain’s close allies, such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Israel, which all receive substantial UK military and other support. Waghorn’s articles offered only very occasional ....

Capitol cop led DC rioters from open Senate chambers door before it was locked

Ari Fleischer breaks with Trump.
A lone cop chased by rioters appears to have deliberately led the mob away from an open door to the Senate chambers just seconds before armed security was able to lock it down, according to new reports.
The Capitol Police officer, identified by CNN as Eugene Goodman, went viral after he was caught on video stranded and being chased by a baying mob who refused to adhere to his repeated demands to stand back.
Detailed analysis by The Washington Post shows that he held them back for almost a minute at the exact time as a half-dozen armed officers were inside the chamber desperately trying to secure it. ....
