THE proprietor of a Shannon Chinese restaurant has described how she saw off an armed robber who paid an unwelcome visit.
Cindy Lin was seated behind the counter at her restaurant on the night of Saturday, April 17, when the would-be robber made his move at around 10.10pm.
“At that time there were no customers here, no orders. I was sitting at the back of the counter, playing with my phone. A young boy came running in, he had a knife and he said ‘give me your f ing money’ and I saw the knife. I was screaming loud, trying to call the chef in the kitchen. He dropped the knife, I think maybe he was scared too, this was a young boy.” ....

Apple unveiled its “Spring Loaded” event, unveiling the much-anticipated AirTags, as well as changes to Apple Card, Podcasts and the Apple TV.
Tim Cook kicked off the latest event touting the company’s environmental progress, with the goal of being carbon neutral from end-to-end, including its supply chain, by 2030. Cook also highlighted its recent Restore Fund launch, in partnership with Goldman Sachs and Conservation International.

ZANESVILLE - Women of Achievement Awards were recently presented in seven categories by Ohio University Zanesville, Zane State College and the Muskingum Family Y. 
The usual dinner has been canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Videos will be posted on social media outlets to honor winners. 
Ruth Ann Allen is the recipient of the Muskingum Family Y Lifetime Service Award. She has distinguished herself by inspiring countless students and adults to pursue musical interests. She served as a teacher in the Franklin and Zanesville City school districts, a private voice instructor and a church musician, director and soloist. Allen served on the Ohio Music Teachers Association and Zanesville Concert Association boards and is a past president of the Thursday Music Club. She is a 55-year soloist for Zanesville’s Messiah presentation and a 40-year actor and music director for the Renner Theater.  ....
