Windsor police have seized various illicit drugs following a month-long investigation.
The Drugs and Guns (DIGS) Unit began a probe in February into the alleged sale of illegal drugs within the city. An adult male was soon identified as a suspect.
Search warrants were obtained for two different residences, according to Constable Darius Goze. Minutes before the searches were started on Wednesday, the male suspect was found and taken into custody with illicit drugs found on him. ....

New park and ride planned for Sidney Road in Port Orchard

PORT ORCHARD With fast ferry service from Southworth scheduled to start this year and an increasing number of new housing projects on the horizon in South Kitsap, Kitsap Transit is moving forward with plans to build a new park and ride in Port Orchard.
The planned park and ride will be located on Sidney Avenue near the intersection of Sedgwick Road, west of Highway 16. The project will include 250 parking stalls and three bus bays for staging and making connections, according to Kitsap Transit executive director John Clauson.
“We’re in need of additional parking pretty much everywhere,” Clauson said.
Transit officials hope the park and ride will help alleviate congestion in Gorst and support commuters traveling to downtown Port Orchard, Bremerton and the Southworth ferry. The Sidney site was picked after a yearlong study for its proximity to Highway 16 and how it fits into the city of Port Orchard’s plans for the area around Ruby Creek, where multiple lar ....

Social workers fear client in custody dispute, court hears

A North Shore social services office is in lockdown over fears of a father embroiled in a child-custody battle.
A Crown prosecutor Tuesday outlined measures taken by Secwepemc Child & Family Services to protect staff from Frederick Philip Shupe.
All of them are expressing a real fear of Mr. Shupe, said Crown lawyer Neil Flanagan. I ve been told the Sydney Avenue office is now in lockdown . . . . Workers are afraid of him.
Shupe, 45, was convicted after trial on two counts of uttering threats. In the first instance he left a message on a social worker s voicemail stating he will haunt her until she dies, Flanagan said. ....
