Global oil prices to hit US$60 a barrel – Energy Consultant

Energy Consultant, Dr Yussif Sulemana has predicted that oil prices on the global market are likely to hit US$60 per barrel in the first quarter of 2021.
Currently, Brent crude oil is selling for about US$55.78 dollars per barrel increasing by a little over four dollars since the start of the year.
Dr Sulemana in an interview with Citi Business News elaborated on the likely causes of a potential increase in the price of crude on the global oil market.

OPEC reduction holding, vaccines in the horizon and the vibrancy of the Asian economies are the three things accountable for these bullish sentiments in the oil prices,” he said. ....

This was done to assist in resolving the power crisis at the time.
Although Ameri Energy wrote in September 2020 to inform the government of its intention to hand over the plant by the date stated in the contract, the government of Ghana has not yet carried the necessary steps to ensure a smooth handing over. ....

Release funds to LBCs – Cocoa farmers appeal to government

Cocoa production in Ghana is expected to reach 800,000 tonnes this season, COCOBOD has said
Some cocoa farmers in the Western North Region have raised concerns on the need for the government to make available monies to Local Buying Companies (LBCs) to enable them to buy their produce.
Inadequate funds at cocoa buying companies have brought an adverse effect on the livelihoods of farmers.
Cocoa farmers in the country have over the years relied solely on LBCs for their income but most LBCs in the region have not been able to meet demands of their farmers in terms of payment for the sale of cocoa produce. ....
