As violent crime continues to spiral out of control on Lightfoot s watch, 98 people were shot, 17 fatally, from  “Friday at 6 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. on Monday,” according to a report by ABC 7. However, the  Chicago Sun-Times is reporting the number of fatalities to be 19. As ABC 7 points out, 87 people were shot during that same period over the Independence Day holiday last year. The weekend s violence also follows Thursday s bloodbath, which saw 32 people shot in a single day.
