There has been a demand, among fans of a certain Louisiana-style pop-up restaurant working out of the kitchen at Zeitgeist Arts Cafe, to bring out the beignets.
Consider it done.
Robert Lee, the southern-raised creative behind Gumbo Boi, is serving a one-day-only brunch as part of the upcoming offerings for Eat Downtown the Greater Downtown Council’s take on restaurant week and the French powder sugar covered donuts are on the menu alongside crepes, shrimp and grits, and po’boys.

DULUTH, Minn. – Many bars and restaurants have struggled to stay afloat during the pandemic.
Zeitgeist is now welcoming customers back to test out demand for indoor dining with plans to fully reopen in the future.
The Zeitgeist Arts Café shut its doors in August as a response to the financial troubles caused by the pandemic.
Now the café’s bar will reopen on a limited basis for indoor dining.

DULUTH, Minn – Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has now given the green light, but many of those running Northland entertainment venues and tourist attractions say its going to take some time to reopen.
Like many other entertainment settings in the Northland, Zeitgeist Arts Café and Zinema in Duluth has been strongly impacted by the pandemic.
“It’s been really difficult. It’s the worst seeing those doors close and the building not filled with people,” said Sara Rolfson, the business director for Zeitgeist Arts Café and Zinema.

DULUTH, Minn.– One restaurant in Duluth is opening up their space to businesses that want to try bringing some of their cooking to the area.
Zeitgeist Arts Cafe in downtown Duluth is looking for some partners to use their commercial kitchen space while their cafe is closed during the pandemic.
It would be shared with other people renting out the kitchen and each renter would have their own time in the space to offer to-go meals and give their own restaurant a start.
“Unfortunately it’s not safe or financially viable for us to be open and running but it’s really nice to see that space being used and for folks to still be getting food in the same of the same ways that we were able to offer before,” said Sara Rolfson, who’s the Business Director for the Restaurant.
