SECONDARY students across the Grant District Council have been recognised and rewarded for their academic achievements and commitments with a $500 scholarship. St Martin’s Lutheran College student Leah McDonnell, Tenison Woods College student Sarah McKinnon, Mount Gambier High School student Josh Kain, Chelsea Ray and Gemma Ralph of Grant High School and Allendale East Area School’s Damon Verrier have received this year’s academic scholarship. Each year, council provides scholarships of $500 to students at high schools across the Grant district and in the neighbouring City of Mount Gambier to students who demonstrate school values, an exemplary attendance record and an intent to undertake tertiary education. ....

(WRDW/WAGT) - An Aiken Elementary School teacher has been charged with drug trafficking following a traffic stop. Sarah McKinnon stands charged following a Dec. 5 traffic stop on Richland Avenue. According to an arrest report, McKinnon failed to make two stops at stop signs before she was pulled over by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office. When deputies approached her car with a K-9 unit, who alerted the deputy to the driver’s side of the car where McKinnon was seated, according to the report. ....
South Carolina Teacher Charged with Trafficking Meth On 12/11/20 at 9:24 AM EST A teacher from South Carolina has been arrested on a drug trafficking charge after police said they found 2.23 pounds of a white crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine in her car. Sarah McKinnon, a second grade teacher at Aiken Elementary School, was detained after a series of traffic violations led officers to search her vehicle. Local news outlet WJBF reported that she attracted attention from police after the rental vehicle she was driving ran two stop signs and made an illegal turn. Police aided by a dog unit found a clear gallon-sized plastic bag filled with suspected methamphetamine which was placed in a cardboard box intended to hold an iron. Several more bags containing the drug were found along with another bag allegedly containing marijuana. She was detained on Saturday on drug trafficking charges and was later released. ....
An Aiken Elementary School teacher was charged Saturday after a traffic stop by an Aiken County Sheriff s Office deputy reportedly uncovered over 2 pounds of what is believed to be methamphetamine in a car she was driving. Sarah McKinnon, 43, of North Augusta was charged with trafficking in meth or cocaine base 400 grams or more, according to jail records. On Thursday, the Aiken County Public School District confirmed that McKinnon is currently employed at Aiken Elementary School as a teacher but is on administrative leave pending an investigation. The school district states McKinnon has been a teacher for 21 years, serving most recently at Aiken Elementary School where she has been a second grade teacher for the past five years. ....
