AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. Aiken County authorities are investigating after a body was found buried in a wooded area on Tuesday.
County Coroner Darryl M. Ables said that his office was called to the 500 block of Harbor Drive around 10:20 a.m. The call came after law enforcement learned of a body buried on the property.
At this point, the person hasn t been identified pending DNA testing and an upcoming autopsy in Newberry, South Carolina. He is described only as a Black male.
News19 has requested additional information from the Aiken County Sheriff s Office which is handling the investigation. At this point, neither they nor the coroner have said whether foul play was possibly involved.

A set of dismembered remains found at a property in Georgia have been identified, following the suspected killer s arrest in South Carolina.
Christopher Collin Demmon, 33, was charged with malice murder on Saturday. The victim has now been identified as Justin Yeng Xiong, 29, of Eatonton, Georgia, a press release from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation stated.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division arrested a man Tuesday in relation to a confrontation last week during which gunfire was exchanged with Aiken County Sheriff's Office deputies. Chaney Asad Jones, 20, was arrested on charges of attempted murder and pointing and presenting firearms at a person. He was booked at the Aiken County Detention Center. On May 25, ACSO deputies were responding to a disturbance report when an armed man.
