Assemblyman Carlos Villapudua was elected in November 2020 to represent District 13 – composed of areas throughout Stockton, Tracy, Mountain House, Lodi, and Thornton – at the State Assembly. He was born and raised in Stockton and graduated from California State University, Sacramento.  
He previously served on the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors for eight years and was the CEO of the San Joaquin County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

The Record
San Joaquin County residents who have fallen behind on rent due to COVID-19 can now apply for financial assistance.
On Monday, both the county and city of Stockton launched their respective rental assistance programs, which were made possible through millions of dollars in both federal and state funding sources. Stockton was been allocated more than $20 million, while the county received nearly $30 million.
The funds will provide emergency assistance to city and county residents who cannot pay rent or utilities because their household income has been reduced or they qualify for unemployment as a direct result of the coronavirus pandemic. The county program is available to residents in all of San Joaquin County s cities aside from Stockton, as well as unincorporated areas. ....

John M. Solis recently had the bittersweet formality of addressing the board of the San Joaquin County Employment and Economic Development Department. After more than 40 years, Solis officially announced his retirement on February 27, 2021 with the department and from a highly decorated and distinguished career in which he implemented many innovative programs to help young people find good-paying and rewarding careers. Solis, whose family immigrated to Stockton from Jalisco, Mexico, when he was just 3 years old, grew up in Stockton, attended St. George Elementary School, St. Mary’s High School and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of San Francisco and a master’s degree in business administration from California State Uni ....
