MULTAN: The construction of south Punjab secretariat is in full swing and the project would be completed in two years. South Punjab Additional Chief Secretary Saqib Zafar visited the under-construction site on Tuesday.
On the occasion, technical staff briefed him about the project. Talking to reporters on the occasion, the ACS said in line with the vision of the Punjab government, the secretariat would be made functional as soon as possible.
He said its construction would cost Rs 2.4 billion and initially, Rs 900 million funds had been received for the commencement of work on the project. He said quality material would be used in the construction of the secretariat. ....

MULTAN: The United Nations has shown a keen interest in the uplift of the remote region of south Punjab and it would finance in health, education, environment, water management, human resource and infrastructural development.
The UN envoys including UN Resident Head Islamabad Shah Nasir Khan and UN Joint Secretary Nelufar Zahid said this while addressing a capacity-building workshop on Development Program 2023-2027 jointly organised by UN and South Punjab Administrative Secretariat here on Friday.
The UN envoys said they would enhance cooperation in fields of environment, water management and human resources.
The next annual development program will also ensure transparent utilisation of UN grants for South Punjab projects. ....

MULTAN: Twenty-nine Section Officers (SOs) of various departments have been transferred and posted in south Punjab to improve service delivery of the officials of South Punjab Administrative Secretariat and to run its affairs smoothly ion Monday.
An SO is a key post and backbone to bureaucracy in running affairs in all directions. An SO performs multidimensional duties.
The South Punjab Secretariat hung welcome panaflexes and banners in Saraiki language at Multan Circuit house where the first meeting between secretaries and SOs was held here on Monday.
