‘Rs900m received for construction of south Punjab Secretariat’ August 4, 2021 MULTAN: The construction of south Punjab secretariat is in full swing and the project would be completed in two years. South Punjab Additional Chief Secretary Saqib Zafar visited the under-construction site on Tuesday. On the occasion, technical staff briefed him about the project. Talking to reporters on the occasion, the ACS said in line with the vision of the Punjab government, the secretariat would be made functional as soon as possible. He said its construction would cost Rs 2.4 billion and initially, Rs 900 million funds had been received for the commencement of work on the project. He said quality material would be used in the construction of the secretariat. ....

The campaign continued on Wednesday and will enter the fourth day on Thursday. According to officials sources, the government had set a target of vaccinating 40 per cent of people over the age of 18 in five districts of the province, including Multan, by August 14. In Multan district, over 16% of the population over the age of 18 has been vaccinated against the coronavirus disease. Teams had been formed to achieve the target of vaccinating 686,000 people by August 14. ....
Crackdown on coronavirus SOPs violators intensified July 27, 2021 MULTAN: The city district administration intensified crackdown on the violators of coronavirus SOPs and sealed shops and imposed a fine on transport owners for violating COVID-19 SOPs in Multan on Monday. According to officials, the administration was not showing any relaxation in terms of taking action against violators of the SOPs of the pandemic. On the directives of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ali Shehzad, three business centres were closed during the crackdown on violation of Corona SOPs while 7 buses were impounded. Similarly, action was also taken against owners of eight buses over ignoring coronavirus SOPs.
