Many paediatricians are seeing a rise in Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome (MIS-c), an immune-mediated disease that is contracted if the child has been infected with covid. This disease mimics the toxic shock syndrome but if treated in time, its fatality is less than 2 per cent, say doctors. Dr Sagar Bhattad, Consultant - Paediatric Immunology and Rheumatology, Aster CMI Hospital, said, “We have seen at least five cases of MIS-c over the last 10 days. Other hospitals in the city are also witnessing similar numbers in cases. This disease is being reported more in Tier-II cities across the state. ....
