Madressah students don't get financial aid from zakat fund for want of NOC, PA told - Newspaper

KARACHI: The Sindh Assembly was informed on Friday that the needy madressah students were not given any financial assistance from the zakat fund due to want of a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the home department and district administration.
While furnishing statement and lawmakers’ written and verbal queries during Question Hour, Parliamentary Secretary for Auqaf, Zakat and Ushr Heer Soho said that the madressahs were not being issued NOC for availing the facility of financial assistance for deserving students as the procedure of obtaining an NOC from the home department and the district administration was complicated.
She informed the lawmakers that the needy students of as many as 22 public-sector universities and poor patients at 26 different public and private hospitals were given financial aid from the zakat fund. ....

KARACHIi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah Thursday said he had taken up the issue of three hospitals of Karachi, including JPMC, NICVD and NICH in the Council of Common Interests (CCI) meeting held recently, and claimed that during the meeting, the prime minister directed his special assistant on health to resolve the matter as, according to the PM, the provincial government was running them properly.
He was talking to the media just after inaugurating the Landhi Industrial area roads. Writes letter to Sindh IGP, says Saleem ran teams of target killers
KARACHI:
Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) DIG Omar Shahid sent a report on Tuesday to the Sindh IGP and requested him to seek legal help from the Belgian authorities for the arrest of a terrorist affiliated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM-L), identified as Saleem al known as Saleem Belgium alias Saleem Baloch.
The CTD DIG informed the Sindh police chief that Saleem was responsible for running teams of target killers and there was evidence he was involved in three incidents of terrorism besides collection of money for funding terrorist activities. ....
