The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested its two own officers accused of releasing a terror suspect in exchange for a Rs100 million bribe promise.
According to an FIA spokesperson, an FIR has been registered against a person, Noman Siddiqui, for his involvement in transferring money through bitcoins and crypto currency from Europe, including the United Kingdom.
He said the amount was allegedly generated from drug smuggling and some of the amount had been spent on terror activities as well. Siddiqui is said to be affiliated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London. According to an FIA CTW report, the MQM-London’s Saleem Belgium had planned a bomb attack in Gulistan-e-Jauhar in December 2018, and MQM MPAs had participated in the programme where the bomb was planted. According to the CTW report, Siddiqui had provided the funds for the bomb blast.

KARACHI: Interpol in a letter to Pokarachi terror actslice and the CTD has sought details of the Belgian citizens involved in terror activities in Karachi, ARY News reported on Monday.
Interpol Brussels chapter, in a letter to Additional I.G. Police Karachi and DIG Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) via the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), has sought the list of the citizens of Belgium involved in terrorism in Karachi, sources said.
According to sources, Belgian authorities had sought details of the terror suspects from the Interpol.
It is to be mentioned here that the CTD Karachi DIG Omar Shahid Hamid had wrote a letter for arrest of the Belgian nationals involved in anti-state activities in Karachi.

Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) DIG Omar Shahid sent a report on Tuesday to the Sindh IGP and requested him to seek legal help from the Belgian authorities for the arrest of a terrorist affiliated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM-L), identified as Saleem al known as Saleem Belgium alias Saleem Baloch.
The CTD DIG informed the Sindh police chief that Saleem was responsible for running teams of target killers and there was evidence he was involved in three incidents of terrorism besides collection of money for funding terrorist activities.

The Counter Terrorism Department Police has requested the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) to provide the joint-investigation team s report on an alleged Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London terrorist to the Belgium embassy in Pakistan, it emerged on Thursday.
In a letter to MoFA, CTD DIG Omar Shahid Hamid wrote that the alleged terrorist, Wahid Hussain alias Guddu alias Sodagar, was arrested in a raid by his department last month. A JIT was subsequently formed.
The suspect holds dual nationality of Belgium and Pakistan, the DIG apprised.
