Munir Bhatti, a director at Isaac TV, told DW that he started the channel 15 years ago to ensure that Pakistani Christians learn about their faith.
Most Christians in Pakistan do not practice religion. We launched the channel to bring the Christ s teachings closer to them, Bhatti said.
Bhatti said his channel has viewers not only in Pakistan but also in other countries.
Most of the content on these channels is apolitical. Jawaid Noor, a Karachi-based gospel singer, says that Christians want to listen to sermons, hymns and the message of the Christ, and that these things can t be telecast on the mainstream Pakistani media. ....

Lahore, Christian sisters Sajida and Abida kidnapped, raped and murdered


LAHORE: Two Christian sisters, 28-year-old Sajida and 26-year-old Abida, both married and with children, were kidnapped, raped and brutally murdered all because they refused to convert to Islam and marry their kidnappers.
Their mangled bodies were found in a sewer on 7 December. At present, only one of their murderers, Mohammad Naeem, has been arrested, has confessed and is now free on bail. The other, Mohammad Imtiaz, is still at large.
Sajida s husband, Mushtaq Masih, told
AsiaNews: “This murder took place because we are poor Christian workers. We want these monsters [the two kidnappers] to be put in prison, according to the law. So others will be able to learn how women must be treated and respected, even if they are poor or belonging to a minority”. ....

Some Muslim boys began offending and insulting Christian girls, resulting in a brawl among young people. A crowd of 30-35 Muslims intervened violently, even entering the homes of Christians to beat women and children. In the clashes, seven Christians were wounded, hit by stones; one was wounded with a knife. The police made no arrests.

“My friend asked me to go work with her in China…I agreed to go with her as long as the work there would be good.” This was the simple way that one unsuspecting Kachin girl from Burma (Myanmar) ended up as a victim of human trafficking and forced marriage in China. Soon after her arrival in China, the friends she came with left her with a Chinese man to live as his wife.
Forced to stay at his house, she was afraid and unsure of where to go for help. Before long, she gave birth to twins. Finally, she determined one day to wake up before her captor and flee to seek help from the authorities in a nearby city. She spent two months in a Chinese jail before being transferred to Burmese authorities who took her back to Burma, where a humanitarian organization provided her with shelter and support. ....
