Saginaw Public School District agrees to buy former Learn 2 Earn Academy building Updated 3:17 PM; Facebook Share SAGINAW, MI - The Saginaw Public Schools Board of Education has agreed to purchase the former Saginaw Learn to Earn Academy building, located at 1000 Tuscola St. The board approved the purchase agreement in a closed session at its Wednesday, April 21 meeting. The district intends to use the building as a new home for high school students who are part of the Saginaw Success Academy, a program that helps at-risk kids graduate, said board President Charles Coleman. The Learn to Earn Academy closed in mid-2020 after 15 years of helping dropouts and those at risk of dropping out continue their education. It enabled 383 students to receive their high school diplomas over its lifetime, according to previous MLive reporting.
