Gardai, Council and HSE urge Donegal people to "Stay home and Stay Safe" - Highland Radio


The North West Major Emergency Management Interagency Group is urging people to Stay home and Stay Safe this Easter.
As the holiday weekend approaches, Gardaí, Donegal County Council and the HSE have issued a joint statement asking the people of Donegal to Hold Firm for a little longer.
Chief Superintendent Terry McGinn chairs the Interagency Group. She s urging people to keep following the public health guidelines, saying the best way of keeping safe is to stay home.
She says high visibility checkpoints will continue throughout the region, including patrols at local amenity sites.
The Chief Executive of Donegal County Council John McLaughlin is urging people not to visit other households over Easter. He acknowledges people have become weary of the impact of restrictions, but says the priority must be to protect others, particularly vulnerable people and front-line workers. ....

Call to follow rules as Fife prepares for tier four


WEST FIFERS have been urged to stick with it as the country moves into level four restrictions this weekend.
Fife Council s co-leaders stressed the importance of keeping to the new rules and and said plans for the return of schools in January were under way.
The region, along with the rest of mainland Scotland, will move to level four on Boxing Day, a decision which the Scottish Government will review after two weeks.
Councillors David Alexander and David Ross said: “This is not what anyone would hope for over the Christmas holidays but the decision has been made and we need to follow the new rules. ....
