Fife Council hope pothole repairs will give confidence to motorists

MORE than 5,000 potholes on the Kingdom s roads have been filled in the past three months. Fife Council s co-leader, David Ross, said he hoped the update would give confidence to motorists that improvements are on the way. Transport chiefs admit the state of the roads has been poor and an extra £9.9 million, over the next two years, was allocated in the budget in March for more repairs and resurfacing. At last week s full council meeting, Cllr Ross said: As regards roads, clearly that s been very difficult over the past year with the COVID restrictions and outbreaks of severe weather. As an administration, we have put significantly more funding into this, both tackling the backlog but more importantly making sure that we can actually improve our roads.

Great Lakes water diversions could be more numerous

The community wants 1.2 million gallons a day, and up to 2 million gallons of water daily in high stress events, in anticipation of future population growth.
