We have seen most everything cancelled in the last year, and then some. This includes the normal festivities that happen in St. Joseph on the 3rd and 4th of July. Normally Joe Town Rocks kicks off on July 3rd with live music and some food and vendors around the Church of Saint Joseph. This year it has been announced that Joe Town Rocks will be cancelled again. But that doesn t include EVERYTHING.
Right now you can purchase raffle tickets for the raffle that will take place on Facebook Live July 4th. The tickets are for sale now from any of the Church of Saint Joseph parishioners, or at the parish office on Mondays from 8:30-4:30pm, Tuesdays from 9am to 2:30pm or Thursdays from 8:30-4:30pm. âWe are excited to be in front of you again in preparing for the 2021 festival,â Angela Dorey, Chairperson of the festival, said. âLast year, you gave us some funding for the development of the festival. We are here tonight to secure the funding and also to look into getting the waiver for alcohol in the park for the day of the festival.â
Jo Schmeiser, Executive Director of the CCGM, explained that all alcohol would be contained in a gated, closed-in area of the Red, White and Brew Garden and that there would not be alcohol all over the park. A letter presented to council by Dorey explained that there would be a fenced-in area with a view of the stage. Volunteers will check identification and handstamp anyone over 21 to allow them to purchase and consume alcohol within the gated area. No alcohol can be removed from the fenced area. Minnesota Possibly Back to "Normal" Within Weeks

This is the best news we have heard in almost a year. Last year was so hard on everyone. We missed out on mostly everything that we all enjoy. The Summer was a wash out, no graduations, proms, festivals, basically anything that involved a large or a larger group of people was cancelled. We made it through that. Now, some light seems to be a the end of the tunnel.

Governor Walz said that he plans on making an announcement later this morning. Usually when he says that he s going to make an announcement regarding the turning of the dial, it s not in our favor. But this time looks fairly promising. With the numbers in positive cases on the decline and the amount of vaccinations that have already been given, and expectation of more doses on the way, this could look close to normal soon. ....

MN May Have to Wait Until Fall for Live Shows...Maybe

The answer right now is.. maybe. That s as good as it can get. At least for right now. Event planners and booking agents are trying to plan for something that may or may not happen. Some of the events that were scheduled in 2020 at US Bank Stadium and Target Field are now rescheduled for June and July. They are trying to be optimistic. Hopefully they do happen, but mostly it seems more likely that we will have to wait until August at the earliest. Unless something changes.
The Minnesota State Fair has scheduled all of the shows that were cancelled last year. Since the fair isn t until the end of August, there is a better chance of that happening as planned. ....
