A letter presented to council by Dorey explained that there would be a fenced-in area with a view of the stage. Volunteers will check identification and handstamp anyone over 21 to allow them to purchase and consume alcohol within the gated area. No alcohol can be removed from the fenced area. (AP) - A small business in downtown Milford was featured twice last week on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” Cookie’s Paper Petals sells handcrafted decorative paper flowers, kits for people to make their own at home and virtual lessons for those looking to master the craft. Anastasia Jackson, the owner, notes that her shop is the first of its kind on the East Coast. The show aired March 22 as part of the program’s “Open for Business” segment. The three-minute clip told the story of how Ms. Jackson was inspired in part by her recently deceased grandmother, who nicknamed her Cookie, to open the shop amid the pandemic. ....
USPS explains mail delivery problems Over the past few months, many Milford residents have reported significant delays or problems getting their mail delivered. Complaints ranged from extremely late delivery, mail being returned as incorrect address that were not incorrect, and, in some cases, mail delivered months after the postmark on the envelope. “One day the mailman marked my package as undeliverable because they couldn’t access my building even though the front door does not lock,” Nicole Worthley said. “There are times the mail will come super late or it will just all be delivered the next day. But there was one week my complex didn’t get mail and when I finally got through to the post office, I was told the guy had quit and left the truck. I had to reach out to the USPS customer service line, and they filed a report for me. It was a mess and the Milford post office was no help.” ....
