Northern Guilford stuns Mount Tabor with late comeback in overtime win Tags: By Jacob Hancock, HighSchoolOT Reporter With just five minutes remaining, it looked like Mount Tabor s girls lacrosse team was going to grind out a first-round playoff win over visiting Northern Guilford on Monday. The Spartans led 9-7 and held the Nighthawks scoreless over the first 20 minutes of the second half, dominating possession over that stretch. Instead, Northern Guilford roared back with two goals in the final five minutes of regulation and a sudden-death goal in overtime to steal the 10-9 victory and advance to the second round. Leading the attack for the Nighthawks (9-4, 8-3 Conference 9) was the senior trio of Ava Spradley (three goals, one assist), Bailey Marsh (three goals) and Hannah McMasters (two goals).
