The heaviest snowfall is expected from 6 p.m. to midnight. Tonight’s low will be near 30 degrees. Tomorrow, the snow continues through the early afternoon; the high will be around 32 degrees.

Restaurants, bars and other businesses in nearly 30 counties in northwest and west-central Illinois got some good news today.

On Saturday, I took a stroll through a junkyard just for fun. In just 30 minutes I spotted some interesting hardware: A strangely beautiful GM part that few people will ever see, an awesome air intake system that cools a car’s computer, and one of the wackiest suspension designs of all time. It was the deadliest year for Harrisburg in more than 30 years.
Twenty-two people died by homicide, up from 14 in 2019. So far, police have solved half of last year’s homicides. If you have information on an unsolved homicide, you can call Harrisburg police at 717-558-6900.

Saturn Cars: Why did GM s Different Kind of Car Company Fail?

The Saturn was initally developed in the 1980s as a revolutionary new small car that would do battle against Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Subaru, and several other brands. It quickly grew into much more than that.
Back in 1962, General Motors’s share of the US market peaked at 50.7 percent. But, by 1982, that had fallen to 43 percent, and it showed signs of continuing to fall. The market demanded smaller, more fuel-efficient cars, and GM faced an onslaught of foreign competitors who knew how to build them better. In order to solve that problem, GM began what it codenamed the “Saturn” project, and GM’s then-chairman, Roger B. Smith formally announced the project in 1983.
