MANGALDAI: All decks have been cleared by the Bangladesh government to repatriate the helpless rickshaw puller Mukul Hazarika of a Mangaldai village who went missing in 2017; and, was later traced out in a jail in Bangladesh in 2019.
The Sentinel in its issues on May 9, 2019 and also on July 22, 2021 covered the heart-touching story of the poor plight of the rural youth. He has been languishing in the Jail even after the expiry of his jail term three years back. Moreover, it is yet to ascertained as to how he landed in the Feni Jail.

GUWAHATI: Police on Sunday said the third abducted employee of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), who is yet to be rescued, is suspected to be in the custody of the banned militant outfit, the United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent.
The third employee, junior technician (production) Ritul Saikia (33), was abducted along with junior technician (production) Mohini Mohan Gogoi (35) and junior engineering assistant (production) Alakesh Saikia (28) on Wednesday. Mohini and Alakesh were rescued by security forces on Saturday from the Mon district in Nagaland.
