Playing Virginia can be frustrating because they are so solid. If you had told me before the game that we would have held them, one of the top 10 three-point field goal efficiency teams in the country and how much they rely on the three, to go three-for-15 from the three and only had three turnovers for the entire game, I would have thought it was ours for the taking. DURHAM, N.C. (AP) Carlik Jones scored seven of his 25 points in overtime, sophomore Quinn Slazinski opened the scoring in OT with a 3-pointer and Louisville fended off Duke 80-73 on Saturday night, halting the Blue Devils late-season win streak at four games.
Jones, a graduate transfer from Radford, scored 24 points when Louisville defeated Duke 70-65 on Jan. 23 marking this the first regular-season sweep for the Cardinals against the Blue Devils.
Jae Lyn Withers scored 16 points with nine rebounds for Louisville while Samuell Williamson scored 14 with 12 rebounds.

What a game. Coming into the game, Duke had won four in a row, but honestly those games weren’t close. We felt like we were going to be facing an offensive juggernaut, at least as of late. They’ve changed a lot, they’ve improved a lot. But I thought our guys - we just battled. We battled. We had five turnovers in half, to not give up an offensive rebound in the first half, we knew that in the second half, they were going to come out and they were going to respond. It’s a little similar to last year’s game here, if you think about it. We were up pretty big, and they come out and they punch you in the mouth a little bit. There’s this little thing I do, a game I play with myself when I want to check my intuition about something.
It isn’t always about an upcoming game I care about. But it is a lot of times.
