Last month, Jameson Irish whiskey celebrated St Patrick’s Day (17 March) with a series of digital events, while The Lost Explorer Mezcal will mark Earth Day this month with a new environmental-themed campaign.
There were a number of charitable efforts in March, including Lixir Drinks’ pledge to give 1% of revenue to an international water charity, Fever-Tree’s new forest project, and The Famous Grouse’s partnership with the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.
Sponsorship deals were also agreed for Scotch brand Glen Scotia and the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, while alcohol-free producer Fluère Drinks backed a racing team. ....

Campbeltown-based whisky distillery Glen Scotia is asking people worldwide to share photography of the Scottish town from the mid-19
th and early-20
th centuries.
Campbeltown is seeking images that depict the town’s whisky industry in the mid-19th and early-20th century
The single malt whisky producer is seeking photos that depict the whisky industry during the Victorian period. At the time, Campbeltown was known as the ‘whisky capital of the world’ and housed more than 30 operating distilleries.
Iain McAlister, master distiller and distillery manager at Glen Scotia, said: “The contribution Campbeltown has made to Scotch is incomparable and we are proud to continue to fly the flag for the region around the world. ....

Photo appeal to mark golden age of Campbeltown whisky


Its sleepy streets and secluded location belie its role in nurturing the growth of a powerhouse industry which generates billions of pounds annually.
Nestled on the Kintyre Peninsula, Campbeltown once boasted more than 30 Scotch distilleries, leading proud inhabitants to proclaim it as the world’s whisky capital.
The former royal burgh’s fame spread quickly and earned it memorable nicknames such as “Spiritville” and “Whiskyopolis”.
And although historical developments eventually led to a collapse in activity, Scotch production is still a major employer.
Now Glen Scotia, one of Campbeltown’s three surviving single malt distilleries, is calling on fans to share photography which captures the local industry’s golden age during the 19th and early-20th centuries. ....
