Dog Easter Egg Hunt In Gloucester On Saturday

Gloucester Parks, Recreation & Tourism is holding a Dog Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday at Beaverdam Park. Bring your pooch to hunt for treat filled eggs followed by a photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny. There will also be a quick trick training session lead by CPDT-KA trainer Amy Willoughby with an opportunity for a dog trick and costume contest afterwards. Easter events at Beaverdam on April 3 – Gazette Journal

Posted On March 17, 2021 Gloucester Parks, Recreation and Tourism will hold a pair of Easter-themed events on Saturday, April 3, at Beaverdam Park. From 10 a.m. to noon, PRT is sponsoring a Bunny Trail at the site. Sign up for a 30-minute timeframe (10-10:30, 10:30-11, 11-11:30 or 11:30-noon). Participants will have a photo with the Easter Bunny, walk the trail on a scavenger hunt, receive eggs with candy and toys from volunteers, receive game ideas and other fun activities for at home. The fee is $9 per child and the deadline to register is Thursday, April 1. From 12:30 to 2 p.m., a Dog Easter Egg Hunt will be held at the park. Search for treat-filled eggs, have a photo with the Easter Bunny and have a quick training session led by CPDT-KA Trainer Amy Willoughby (owner of Shared Joy Dog Training). There will also be dog trick and costume contests. Adoption dogs will be on site. Register for $5 per dog; registration deadline is April 1.

March 12 deadline to enter Daffodil Festival shoebox parade – Gazette Journal

Posted On March 4, 2021 Like last year’s virtual Christmas and Holiday Parade that was organized by the Gloucester Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department in December (shown here), the “Little Gem of a Festival” Mini Virtual Parade will use shoebox-sized floats, which will be filmed and then broadcast for all to see. Friday, March 12 is the deadline to enter. Gloucester County is asking residents to think small when it comes to submitting entries for this year’s Gloucester Daffodil Festival Parade. Think “no bigger than a breadbox” small. Like last year’s virtual Christmas and Holiday Parade that was organized by the Gloucester Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department in December, the “Little Gem of a Festival” Mini Virtual Parade will use shoebox-sized floats, which will be filmed and then broadcast for all to see.

Gloucester PRT offers Zumba, chair yoga classes – Gazette Journal

Posted On January 27, 2021 Gloucester Parks, Recreation and Tourism is holding a pair of exercise programs for the public. ZUMBA: Zumba, for ages 10 and up, will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:45-7:45 p.m. at Botetourt Elementary. Classes begin Feb. 8 and end March 8. Hannah Bychowski will serve as instructor. The fee is $45 and the deadline to register is Feb. 7. CHAIR YOGA: Chair Yoga classes are offered on Mondays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to noon at the Whitcomb Lodge at Beaverdam Park. Chair yoga features a chair as base for movements. The single class fee is $9 per class or sign up for a session for $32. Instructors are Paula Stefanic (Mondays) and Sherry Stikeleather (Fridays). Deadline is four days prior to class.
