“It’s so convenient. Jim Sitzman of Banks was honored with the institue s Heart of Gold Award Wednesday, Jan. 20.
Jim Sitzman is a giver so much so that the 83-year-old Banks resident was awarded the Heart of Gold Award by the Wholistic Peace Institute, as part of a virtual ceremony Wednesday, Jan. 20.
A Colorado native who s lived in Oregon for more than 70 years, Sitzman has been giving back by way of the church and public service his entire life.
I guess I ve always thought it was important to see beyond yourself, Sitzman said. I think it s essential to generate within a community an awareness of others and of sharing. ....

ThedaCare leaders hosted a conversation with school, business and public health stakeholders, as well as representatives from Ascension Wisconsin s Appleton hospital, on Thursday to discuss the rapid rise of COVID-19 patients in hospitals.
NEENAH - ThedaCare will run additional COVID-19 testing sites this week, the health care provider announced Monday.
Along with its ongoing testing site at ThedaCare Physicians-Neenah, 333 N. Green Bay Road, which is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, ThedaCare will have sites at:
Berlin VFW Post 2925, 420 N. Wisconsin St.: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday ....

Kim Forn Luey was born in Guangyang Village, Toisan, Guangdong, China. The family immigrated to Portland in 1947, where Kim graduated from Franklin High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Oregon in 1963, married her husband Jimmie in 1964 and raised four boys. She worked nine years as a tour guide at Alpenrose Dairy starting in 1977 and then was a substitute teacher for the Beaverton school district for 19 years. Kim spent 4,300+ hours volunteering at the Lan Su Chinese Garden starting in 2000. She died of COVID-19 related complications. ....
