Gold Plus Glass Industry: Premji Invest-backed Gold Plus Glass to raise up to Rs 2,400 cr to fund expansion

MUMBAI: Premji Invest-backed Gold Plus Glass Industry, a local glass manufacturer is planning to raise as much as Rs 2,400 crore through a combination of debt and equity to fund its greenfield expansion ramping up productions.
The company is said to have appointed KPMG as an advisor for the proposed fundraising. It also aims for a public listing at a later stage.
The local manufacturer is looking to raise about Rs 600 crore via equity dilution to any institutional investor, two people with knowledge of the matter told ET. While most of the corpus would be raised via debt – loan or bonds, some internal accruals are likely to be tapped for the same. ....

Big data and AI are changing the way organisations interact with individuals.
Following bushfires near Perth in nearly 2021, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia revealed it was analysing data to help to customers affected by natural disasters.
CBA explained it was using algorithms and data from emergency and weather services to offer same-day “tailored support solutions” to affected customers – including those affected by the Perth fires. For example, customers might receive an offer to defer a loan, or an offer of an emergency overdraft. This was about timely, personalised support, the bank stated.

According to industry insiders, NPCI has in recent weeks seen a massive spike in low-ticket recurring transactions (as low as Re 1) processed by gaming merchants.
“These transactions especially spiked during IPL matches, which has led to apprehensions among NPCI and member banks that increased transaction loads could lead to more system outages,” said one of the sources cited above.
Instead of UPI, NPCI wants customers and merchants to use standing instructions (SI) based modes of payment, such as netBanking, for such payments to ensure a smoother flow, a source said. The credentials of the customer, merchant and the ticket size is known beforehand. SI-based recurring channels are engineered to process such payments, the source added. ....

KPMG released the China Fintech 50 report in Beijing on Jan 18. This year KPMG has adopted a Double-50 approach, including 100 outstanding fintech companies on the list.
They were quantitatively assessed in five areas: Technology and data, innovation and change, financial services offered, recognition in capital markets and development foresight.
