Bengaluru receives record high rainfall in January

The city s average rainfall for this month has been 1.2 mm. The state s average rainfall for January has been 1.3 mm while so far in January, the city has received 26.1 mm rainfall.

Bengaluru: The city has received 1991.6 pc of excess rainfall this month, says data sourced from Karnataka Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre. In just a little more than five hours on January 13, the city reported 9mm of rain upto 5:30 pm. The city s average rainfall for this month has been 1.2 mm. The state s average rainfall for January has been 1.3 mm while so far in January, the city has received 26.1 mm rainfall.  ....

Experts say that
Bengaluru is in the throes of one of the
coldest winters in the last few years. But that’s not all. Met experts say that the winter may become more intense in the coming days.
The data from the India Meteorological Department (
IMD) shows that the minimum temperature recorded on December 22 in the city was 14.4 degree Celsius while this week s minimum temperature is likely to hover around 14 to 15 degree Celsius.
However, the data from the Karnataka Natural Disaster Monitoring Committee (
KSNDMC) shows
Mahadevapura had the lowest temperature with 11.4 degree Celsius. According to the IMD, the lowest temperature recorded so far in the city has been 7.8 degrees Celsius on January 13, 1884. ....
