Oklahoman Two leading downtown developers of offices and housing have bought the Colcord Hotel and are building up a hotel portfolio that includes the unfinished Aloft near Quail Springs Mall and other properties nationwide. Developers Mark Beffort and Andy Burnett purchased the Colcord on April 30 for an undisclosed price from Devon Energy, which put the property up for sale in October. Drew Noecker, who brokered the deal, called the hotel a trophy asset. Andy and Mark are long-term guys, Noecker said. They have patient capital and want to buy the hotels in trophy locations with rich history. The Colcord was built in 1910 and was originally an office building (the developer, Charles Colcord, rebuffed efforts by partners to make it a hotel). More than a century later, the building still features the original marble and fixtures in the lobby and distinctive cursive neon rooftop sign. ....
