The leader of the opposition party explained that the smaller rural communities are the “canary in the coalmine”, that what is happening to rural community healthcare is an early warning sign.
“These rural communities, frankly, have been struggling on a number of fronts for some time, but it’s been exaggerated by COVID,” said Notley. “It’s been exaggerated by the stress and the burnout that frontline healthcare workers are feeling.”
