Fort Madison man wanted for attempted murder

Fort Madison, Ia- The Fort Madison Police Department is searching for a man wanted for attempted murder that is believed to be in the Burlington area. In a post to social media, the department says that Roy Michael Junior Garza is wanted in connection with the shooting that occurred downtown in the 800 block of Avenue G back on February 7th. Garza is believed to be in the Burlington area, and is described as a Hispanic, white male, weighing 150lbs, 5'09" and is 34 years old. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Fort Madison Police Department.

Update on Fort Madison Shooting

May 27, 2021 Fort Madison, Ia- The Fort Madison Police Department has released an update on their investigation into a Monday shooting at Ivanhoe Park. Police Chief Mark Rohloff says in a news release that the victim was identified as 31-year-old Brian Lee Scott of Fort Madison. Scott sustained a single gunshot wound to the leg and was subsequently treated and released from the hospital. Reportedly, the victim was confronted by the suspects in the park regarding a debt they were collecting for a third party. The alleged shooter has been identified as 43-year-old Kyle Richardson of Fort Madison. Officers have also located the suspects’ vehicle as well as the shooter’s companion, 21-year-old Tiesha Renee Ann Marshall of Fort Madison. Both the vehicle and current residence were searched.

Fort Madison Police searching for shooting suspect

May 25, 2021 Fort Madison, Ia-  Authorities are searching for a suspect in connection with a shooting that took place Monday, May 24th in Ivanhoe Park in Fort Madison. Fort Madison Police Chief Mark Rohloff told the Pen City Current that authorities responded to reports of a man being shot in the leg at about 6:50 PM.  The suspect or suspects had fled the scene in a vehicle. A lee County Sheriff’s Deputy arrived on the scene and administered first aid to the victim, who was then taken to Fort Madison Community Hospital. Chief Rohloff said that there was a connection between the victim and the shooter and it was not a random attack.  However, he also stated that while the suspect is still at large, it was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.

Ivanhoe Park shooting injures one

The Hawk Eye FORT MADISON Fort Madison Police are investigating a Monday evening shooting in Ivanhoe Park that injured one person.  Officers were called to the park at 3709 Avenue L at 6:53 p.m.  Several calls reported a man was shot in the leg and the suspects had fled the scene in a vehicle, according to a media release from FMPD Chief Mark Rohloff. The 31-year-old unidentified victim was taken to Fort Madison Community Hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury.  Rohloff said the shooting is not a random assault, and police have established a connection between the victim and the assailants.
