FORT MADISON — Fort Madison Police are investigating a Monday evening shooting in Ivanhoe Park that injured one person.
Officers were called to the park at 3709 Avenue L at 6:53 p.m.
Several calls reported a man was shot in the leg and the suspects had fled the scene in a vehicle, according to a media release from FMPD Chief Mark Rohloff.
The 31-year-old unidentified victim was taken to Fort Madison Community Hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury.
Rohloff said the shooting is not a random assault, and police have established a connection between the victim and the assailants.
