Four youths were wounded in the Landhi area on Wednesday after robbers opened fire on them.
The incident occurred in Landhi No 6. Police said some armed robbers arrived near the Karbala Maidan area in Landhi to rob citizens; however, some people surrounded them and tried to catch them. In order to avoid being caught, police said, the robbers opened fire on the people, injuring four of them. They later managed to flee.
Police and rescuers reached the crime scene and transported the wounded persons to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where they were identified as Shahzaib, 18, Sami, 22, Fahad, 18, and Azeem, 18. Police have registered a case. ....

SUKKUR: The police shot dead a criminal after an encounter here on Wednesday, while in another incident, robbers took away Rs250,000 from the workers of a medicine company.
Reports said the police shot dead a criminal after an encounter in the limits of Tamachani Police Station at the Link Road Kando Wah on Wednesday, when the criminals resorted to firing at the police party. SSP Sukkur Irfan Samo said that a gang of robbers were busy robbing commuters and passersby when the police intercepted them. During the encounter, one of the criminals was killed, who was later identified as Bhoro Jatoi wanted in 11 different cases of robberies and other heinous crimes. The police officials said a TT pistol and ammunition were recovered from the deceased criminal while his other accomplices managed to escape.Meanwhile, in a robbery incident, robbers took away Rs250,000 from the workers of a medicine company in Khairpur. PESHAWAR: The police have busted the seven-member gang that robbed several of banks in the provincial capital and adjoining districts in the last five months, officials said on Tuesday. “The cops have recovered Rs22.8 million looted money from the held robbers. Raids are being conducted to arrest three other members of the ring,” said DIG Mardan Yasin Farooq told a press conference at the Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines here. Capital City Police Officer Abbas Ahsan and DIG Kohat Zafar Ali were also present on the occasion. The official said the robbers used to escape in rented vehicles wearing burqas to dodge the police after staging robberies. ....
