Grove man earns 3 years prison for sex with minor By Mark Hamilton - [email protected] OTTAWA A 42-year-old Columbus Grove man received the maximum sentence of three years in prison Monday for having sex with a minor. Joshua B. Miller, of Columbus Grove, was sentenced to 18 months in prison for importuning and 18 months for gross sexual imposition by Putnam County Common Pleas Court Judge Keith Schierloh. Miller was given credit for 108 days served and any additional days while awaiting prison. A charge of rape was dismissed. He was also registered as a Tier One sex offender and will have to register every year for 15 years. ....

However, we are turning our backs on people impacted by long standing, pervasive public health epidemics domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, trafficking, and other interpersonal violence. Congress must take immediate action in the upcoming omnibus appropriations bill to support survivors and the programs that serve them across America, including Crime Victim Services in Allen and Putnam Counties, Ohio. Specifically, Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grants are the largest source of federal funding for victim response organizations in the nation. These grants are drawn from the Crime Victims Fund (“CVF”), which is from penalties and fines from federal criminal convictions; VOCA grants are not funded by taxpayers!
