Attorney updates court on absent client Article by May 6, 2021 A capital charge against three men came up before the High Court today but only two accused were present. Rohan Alisaire Mario Holder, from Lammings Park, St Joseph and Kemar Peter Jamar Ward from Parish Land, Christ Church were present before the No. 4 Supreme Court but Sharaad Jabarry Phillips also from Parish Land, Christ Church was not. Attorney-at-law Ajamu Boardi is representing Holder while Queen’s Counsel Andrew Pilgrim represents Ward. Pilgrim also informed the court that he “formerly appeared” on behalf of Phillips and “I am made to understand that he is missing and believed/presumed to be deceased.” ....
Airport monitors eruption aftermath as operations resume Article by April 27, 2021 Airport officials were keeping their eyes on the skies while operations have returned to normal Monday following a one-week shutdown due to severe ash fall from St Vincent’s La Soufriere volcano. Grantley Adams International Airport CEO Hadley Bourne said management is monitoring the situation to ensure the protection of the aerodrome. “We reopened on the 16th and everything is pretty much normal,” Bourne told Barbados TODAY. “There is still a continuous monitoring and wetting down to make sure that any ash from the outside or nothing doesn’t re-enter the aerodrome… but we are continually monitoring and cleaning,” ....
The Barbados Water Authority wishes to advise that repairs to the large-sized main in Fairview, Christ Church have been completed. Work which began this morning Monday, April 5 with the clearing of the very bushy area and identification of the precise location of the burst, concluded around 8:30 p.m. Having successfully completed the repairs, the Authority will now put water back into the distribution network via this main and monitor the situation closely. Residents of St. Philip and Christ Church districts affected by the rupture are asked to note that it may take some time for water levels to return to normal, as the system needs to recharge. ....
