John Orona | Staff Writer After six months without its own public health officer in the midst of a pandemic, Nevada County on Thursday announced Dr. Scott Kellermann will fill the role, starting New Year’s Day. “I look forward to engaging in public health in Nevada County, particularly with an immunization campaign to end the current COVID-19 pandemic,” Kellermann said in a press release. “I look forward to giving back to Nevada County the kindness and generosity that has been shown to me.” Kellermann has extensive history in Nevada County public health, practicing family medicine for two decades in a Nevada City outpatient facility that grew into the Western Sierra Clinic, and previously serving as chief of staff at Sierra Nevada Hospital. ....
