Homa Bay County Police Commander Esther Seroney said the medic was arrested while at work on Wednesday. âHe was just undertaking his normal duties at the hospital when our officers arrested him. He will be arraigned,â she said. It all started on Monday night when a 33-year-old woman walked into a private hospital in Homa Bay Town in pain. Her hope was that her deteriorating health condition would be sorted. The mother of four later fell unconscious after being attended to by a male clinical officer who advised her to spend the night at the health facility. But when she woke up past midnight, she reported having found the 32-year-old medic, who attended to her medical needs, sleeping beside her on a hospital bed. ....
Kenya Police in Trans-Nzoia County have arrested a woman in connection with the death of her 12- year- old daughter. The woman, 28, is accused of attacking the girl using a cooking stick following her disappearance from home for four days. The girl, a grade two Primary School pupil left home last Friday and resurfaced on Monday. The deceased had reportedly declined to return home fearing beatings from her mother. She instead went to the local chief’s office where officials handed her to Police Station. Officers contacted the girl’s mother who arrived and picked her. “The report we have is that the girl disappeared from home on April 23 and on Monday, she sought the intervention of the chief to return her home. This is when she was handed over to officers at Kiminini Police Station,” said Trans-Nzoia County Commander Fredrick Ochieng. ....

I cannot, however respect his flawed views about the impact 100 extra officers will have in our communities. Neither can I respect his naïve dismissal of the ability of me, if I am elected next month, the Chief Constable and the Chief Finance Officer to bring in those additional officers. What Mr Howlett does in a most determined and very public way way is explain to residents exactly why long retired former officers, who were never strategic decision makers, make catastrophically poor PCCs. ....
