Police net bhang in abandoned car

Police on Wednesday found bhang worth Sh65,500 in an abandoned car in Rangwe, Homa Bay County.
The discovery was made after members of the public informed the police that the vehicle had been left unattended for hours at Ngegu market.
On inspection, the police officers found 605 rolls of bhang stashed in the boot of the Toyota Ipsum. The vehicle was towed to Homa Bay Police Station.
Confirming the incident, Homa Bay County Police Commander Esther Seroney said police are hunting for suspects who abandoned the car. ....

Clinical officer arrested after woman is raped in private hospital


Homa Bay County Police Commander Esther Seroney said the medic was arrested while at work on Wednesday.
“He was just undertaking his normal duties at the hospital when our officers arrested him. He will be arraigned,” she said.
It all started on Monday night when a 33-year-old woman walked into a private hospital in Homa Bay Town in pain.
Her hope was that her deteriorating health condition would be sorted.
The mother of four later fell unconscious after being attended to by a male clinical officer who advised her to spend the night at the health facility.
But when she woke up past midnight, she reported having found the 32-year-old medic, who attended to her medical needs, sleeping beside her on a hospital bed. ....

Police in Homa Bay are holding a trader for allegedly killing his customer following a confrontation over Sh50.
The 25-year-old suspect who is a chips vendor within Makongeni Estate in Homa Bay town is said to have stabbed Junior Opiyo, 23, in the neck after he became impatient over his Sh50 balance.
Opiyo had gone to buy chips in the company of friends on Tuesday evening when the incident happened.
After purchasing chips and giving out a Sh100 note, the trader delayed giving Opiyo back his change and a confrontation ensued. ....

A 23-year-old man has been killed in Homa Bay town in a fight over Sh50 change demanded menacingly after buying chips.
Junior Opiyo died in a fight with a 25-year-old chips vendor Brian Omondi at Makongeni Estate on Tuesday evening.
Eyewitnesses said Opiyo, who was in the company of three, had bought Sh50 chips which he shared with the friends.
He later paid with a Sh100 note but the vendor did not have Sh50 change and opted to look for it.
Trouble started when Opiyo protested that Omondi should not go and look for change as he was wasting his time. ....
