The finding – identifying the gene responsible for one of the deadliest cancers – is among 64 contenders fighting it out to win the public’s votes in an online bracket tournament. Voting opens today for “STAT Madness,” which is like the scientific version of the NCAA basketball tournament. (WVIR) - Citing an unusually large increase in positive COVID-19 cases both on and off grounds, the University of Virginia is enacting additional health and safety restrictions to limit the spread of COVID-19. According to an email from the university, the following restrictions will be enacted effective at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16: All in-person events and gatherings, on and off grounds, are prohibited and should be moved online. In-person classes will continue, with extra safety measures in place. ....
