After assisting in search and rescue operations, fire investigations, and even the scene of a homicide, the Rangitīkei Civil Defence Response Team and Rural Fire Force are looking to purchase a new drone. Used by the organisation for a variety of different purposes, drones are a fundamental tool in modern-day operations according to Rangitīkei Emergency Management Officer Paul Chaffe.

December 19, 1986, is a date seared into the memory of Paul Murfitt’s family. It was the day they heard Paul lost his life in a car crash while giving a friend a lift home from an evening out in Ely.
