The Presidentâs action makes federal funding available to help individuals and communities in the counties of Breathitt, Clay, Estill, Floyd, Johnson, Lee, Magoffin, Marion and Powell recover from the severe storms, flooding and mudslides that occurred Feb. 27-March 14, 2021. âI thank the president and his team for their quick action to help the people of Kentucky recover from these devastating storms,â Gov. Beshear said. âI visited just weeks ago to see the damage first-hand, and the needs are great. This was some of the worst flooding the state has seen in my lifetime, and it is our job to make sure we help the affected people and businesses get back to their lives and livelihoods.â ....

Freshman Titus Winders went out quick and maintained his pace on the way to a fifth-place finish of 29 minutes, 51.93 seconds in the 10,000m. Winders’ 10,000m time was good enough for an NCAA II provisional qualifier, puts him 19th in the nation and eighth all-time in the USI record book. ....

(LSU) - The SEC announced the approval of the 24-game conference schedule for each SEC softball team Friday morning. The schedule features four home series and four away series with a built-in bye weekend. A television schedule and times for each series will be announced at a later date as well as a full 2021 schedule. The Tigers will start out conference play on the road, heading to Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee March 12-14. They will return home to take on Texas A&M March 19-21 and will follow with a road trip to Florida March 26-28. ....
