(WFIE) - Junior distance runner Jennifer Comastri (Indianapolis, Indiana) won a conference title and picked up two All-League honors to lead University of Southern Indiana Women’s Track & Field to a fourth-place finish at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships Saturday. Comastri began the day with a second-place finish in the finals of the 1,500 meters, earning second-team All-Conference honors in the process. She finished the day with a first-place showing in the 5,000 meters, earning first-team All-GLVC honors and capturing her first-career GLVC Outdoor title with a time of 17 minutes, 20.07 seconds. ....

(WFIE) - University of Southern Indiana Men’s Track & Field had eight top-five outings including four Screaming Eagles recording NCAA II provisional qualifying marks in the 10,000 meters alone at the Jim Vargo Invitational April 9-10. Freshman Titus Winders went out quick and maintained his pace on the way to a fifth-place finish of 29 minutes, 51.93 seconds in the 10,000m. Winders’ 10,000m time was good enough for an NCAA II provisional qualifier, puts him 19th in the nation and eighth all-time in the USI record book. ....

(WFIE) - University of Southern Indianaâs Womenâs Track & Field came away winners of the Kentucky Wesleyan Twilight Invitational with a team total of 149 points Friday evening. Freshman Kaylee Lane sprinted away from the field as she took first in the 100 meters in a time of 13.09 seconds. Freshman teammate, Katelyn Grell stayed near Lane to the line as she took second in 13.31. Another Freshman, Olivia Clark rounding out the scoring in the event crossing the line fourth giving the Screaming Eagles five additional points with a time of 13.46. ....
